Kate Williams DNP, RN, NEA-BC, NPD-BC, Regional Director Nursing Professional Development and Practice at Baylor Scott and White Health – Central Texas Region, which includes Memorial Medical Center, McLane Children’s Hospital, the Continuing Care Hospital, Hospice, EMS, and over 100 ambulatory care clinics. Baylor Scott& White was named the #4 health system by Fortune/IBM Watson. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple is a 574-bed multi-specialty teaching hospital with a Level I Trauma designation. In 2021, the hospital was ranked as the #2 teaching hospital in the United States. The hospital has 31 accredited residency and fellowship programs.  

Kate’s work over the last decade focuses on Policy/Procedures and Nursing Practice, Transition to Practice, Academic Partnership, Nursing Professional Development, Clinical Nurse Career Advancement, Leadership Development, Workforce Development and Building a Sustainable Healthy Work Environment. Kate has led several organizational strategies including transition of practices for newly acquired hospitals; staff training, cultural and leadership development for new hospital builds; international designation of system-wide Nurse Residency Program; Pathway to Excellence designations; development of Student Nurse Externship and RN Fellowship Programs; development & Implementation of Clinical Nurse Career Ladder Program; and workforce development programs for Patient Care Technicians and Certified Medical Assistants with Texas Workforce Commission grant funding of $408K in 2021-2023. She has presented at various national and international conferences; and represented her organization at Texas Nurse Day at the Capitol.

Her formative years in nursing includes working as a Staff Nurse with the Ministry of Health, Jamaica and Instructor at Northern Caribbean University.

Kate earned her Diploma in Nursing from Cornwall School of Nursing, Post-basic midwifery from the Kingston School of Nursing; MSN-Nursing Education with Distinction from The University of the West Indies, and DNP in Executive Leadership from the University of Texas, Austin. She is a member of Texas Nurse’s Association, and America Nurse’s Association

Kate is the proud mother of twin boys, Matthew, and Daniel. She spends her free time attending their sporting events or enjoying the outdoors.
