Description

This Nurse Talks discusses the health disparities that disproportionately affect Black Americans, emphasizing the impact of implicit bias on healthcare delivery and clinical outcomes. Despite advancements and efforts toward equality, significant gaps remain in access to healthcare, quality of care, and overall health outcomes. Through this course, participants will examine how unconscious biases among healthcare workers contribute to these disparities and learn effective strategies to recognize and address these biases in their daily practice. Participants will learn about the mechanisms by which implicit bias operates within healthcare settings and what steps nurses can take to actively reduce disparities and promote equity in healthcare for Black Americans.
