The TNA Annual Conference, "Gaining Traction: Nurses Driving Change," focuses on ways that nurses can positively impact the healthcare system: rather than being caught up in dysfunction, how can nurses make the change that is needed?

The Texas Nurses Association’s 2024 Annual Conference, Gaining Traction: Nurses Driving Change will bring together nurses from across the state to highlight the meaningful work nurses are doing in their organizations and look at current nursing issues with industry changemakers.

Nurses are a major force for innovation and advancement in the healthcare industry. Together, nurses can drive change across all practice settings. Join us and be a part of moving Texas nursing forward!

Rebecca Love, RN, BS, MSN, FIEL  is an experienced nurse executive and first nurse featured on Ted.com, and recognized as one of Modern Healthcare's most influential people in healthcare in 2022.  By day, Rebecca serves as Chief Clinical Officer at IntelyCare, a leading app-enabled workforce management platform helping solve the nursing crisis.

Currently, Rebecca serves as the Chief Clinical Officer of IntelyCare, Inc.  Rebecca is passionate about empowering nurses and creating communities to help nurses innovate, create and collaborate to start businesses and inventions to transform healthcare. In 2023, she is now Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the Commission for Nursing Reimbursement working to respond to the nationwide concerns of nursing staffing shortages. Rebecca holds an M.S. in Nursing from Northeastern University, B.A. in International Relations/Spanish from Boston University, and, sits on the board of NextGen Ventures, Health Science Entrepreneurs at Northeastern University & the Host Committee for the Massachusetts ACLU. She currently lives in Marblehead, Massachusetts with her husband and 3 children.

Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs and Simulation

 Dr. Kellie Bryant is currently the Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs and Simulation and Associate Professor position at Columbia School of Nursing. Dr. Bryant has garnered expertise in her field with a teaching career spanning over two decades and 15 years of specialized simulation experience. Within her current role, Dr. Bryant oversees the day-to-day operations and execution of simulation-based education for both prelicensure and advanced practice nursing students at Columbia’s accredited Helene Fuld Health Trust Simulation Center. Her responsibilities include implementing initiatives within the institution and the broader community aimed at fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). In addition, she also serves as a consultant for Dr. Uché Blackstock’s Advancing Health Equity and is an Associate Director for AARP’s Center for Health Equity.

Dr. Bryant's research pursuits include leveraging simulation to enhance patient safety, prevent opioid overdoses, and create nursing pathway programs to inspire historically marginalized students to pursue a nursing career. Her scholarly accomplishments include publication of over 30 articles and book chapters. She also is pivotal as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator in five ongoing research projects, including a prestigious NIH R01 grant. Her dedication to sharing knowledge is evident in her extensive dissemination efforts, which include over 100 presentations.

In leadership and service, Dr. Bryant actively engages with numerous national and international committees. Her contributions at Columbia University include co-chairing the campus-wide antiracism task force for community service. She holds the vice chair position for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare’s DEI committee. Furthermore, she is an elected board member of the International Nursing Association of Clinical Simulation Learning and is a member of the editorial board of the Clinical Simulation in Nursing journal. Lastly, she is the second vice president of the Greater NYC Black Nurses Association.

Dr. Bryant's educational journey commenced with an Associate degree in nursing from Hudson Valley Community College. She received her Bachelor’s in Nursing and a Master’s Degree as a Women’s Health Nursing Practitioner from Stony Brook University. Lastly, she obtained her Doctorate in Nursing Education from Case Western Reserve University.

RaDonda Vaught was the subject of one of the highest-profile healthcare criminal cases in recent years. She holds a BSN and a Certificate in Leadership from Western Kentucky University. While working as a BSN prepared registered nurse, Mrs. Vaught committed a medication error that ended the life of a patient in 2017. She was charged under administrative law by the Tennessee Department of Health, leading to the revocation of her nursing license by the Tennessee Board of Nursing in a July 2021 hearing. Additionally, she was charged under criminal law and found guilty by jury trial of two felony charges in March of 2022: Negligent Homicide, and Abuse of an Impaired Adult, with placement on an Elder Abuse registry in the state of Tennessee. Mrs. Vaught is uniquely qualified to speak firsthand on the impact this sentinel event has had on her life and her profession, along with the implications of the legal actions that followed. A passionate advocate for safety and improvement, her story will be one that is not easily forgotten.

Event Policies

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations must be received no later than two weeks prior to the event.  All refunds will be processed after the event has occurred. A $50.00 processing fee will be retained from all refunds.

Transferring Registration

Registrations may be transferred to another individual by contacting TNA staff, via phone, email or submitting a support ticket. Please note that if additional fees are due based on the difference in membership status, those fees will need to be paid for prior to the transfer of registration.

Accreditation Statement: Texas Nurses Association/Foundation Provider Unit is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

How do I submit a support ticket?

How do I register multiple individuals? 

To register multiple individuals, select the desired quantity of tickets and enter each registrant's email address. If you do not know all email addresses at the time of purchase, choose "Assign Later" and add the emails once identified through the purchaser's account settings.

I received the error message “User not found”  

This error may occur if you enter an incorrect email address. Your email address serves as your unique identifier; try other email addresses you may have used. If the problem persists, you might need to create a new account or contact our team for assistance.

What if I have multiple accounts?
