Description

TPAPN safeguards patients by providing early identification, support, monitoring, accountability and advocacy to Texas nurses who have an identified substance use or mental health condition or related incident, so they may practice nursing safely. TPAPN Program Director, Brittney Majefski will present on Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health in Nursing. Learn more about:

The webinar will be followed by a Q&A session.

  • Attend the presentation in its entirety, including question and answer time.
  • Credit awarded commensurate with participation.
  • Complete and submit the electronic survey within 10 days (link to be provided after the presentation).

Brittney has been a Registered Nurse since 2013. She initially graduated from Austin Community College ADN-RN program and completed the St. Davids New Graduate Nursing Residency program. She started her psych mental health career nine years ago and became passionate about the work that was being done with this unique patient population. Brittney has held a variety of leadership positions since 2014.  Brittney received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing in 2016. During this time she honed her skills as the infection control coordinator for her workplace, which proved vital to navigating through the Covid-19 pandemic. She also continued her work with new hire orientation and become certified to teach behavioral intervention/de-escalation techniques. In December of 2019, Brittney completed her Masters degree in Nursing Education and was promoted to Director of Nursing .She continued to work collaboratively with the hospital administration team, direct care staff and all members of the treatment team to provide support and evidenced based practice changes to the nursing services department. In addition to her work as a Director of Nursing, she worked for the Nursing School at The University of Texas at Austin from 2021 to January of 2023 as a clinical instructor and course facilitator for the AE Psych-Mental Health course. She loves helping nurses find their place and drive for the ever-changing nursing profession. Her passion for education and behavioral health are what drive her to continue to advocate for continual improvements to the field of nursing. She now serves as the Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses Program Director and holds and ANCC certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse.

On a more personal note, Brittney enjoys the outdoors, reading, traveling , spending time with her family and friends and spoiling her almost 15 year old pound puppy Blitz. She has been happily married to her husband of 15 years who is a first responder for the City of Austin. Brittney hopes to continue her advocacy for nursing by helping promote open conversations to all nurses, hospital administrators and legislators regarding mental health needs. She hopes to assist with the improvement and allocation of available resources to help keep all nurses healthy and trauma informed; not only for their patients but also their peers and themselves.

How do I submit a support ticket?

How do I access my certificate?

Log in to your account, select the event for which you need a Continuing Education (CE) certificate, and click the "Certificate" button under the event details. After attending the event and completing any required form, you will be able to download your certificate directly from your profile.

How do I register multiple individuals? 

To register multiple individuals, select the desired quantity of tickets and enter each registrant's email address. If you do not know all email addresses at the time of purchase, choose "Assign Later" and add the emails once identified through the purchaser's account settings.

I received the error message “User not found”  

This error may occur if you enter an incorrect email address. Your email address serves as your unique identifier; try other email addresses you may have used. If the problem persists, you might need to create a new account or contact our team for assistance.

What if I have multiple accounts?

If you suspect you have multiple accounts with different email addresses, please submit a support ticket or email our support team to request merging these accounts. Include your preferred email address in your request.

Can I transfer registration?

Registration transfers are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you need to transfer your registration, please contact us by email or submit a support ticket to make a formal request.
