Description

Workplace violence is a significant issue in the nursing profession, and one of its most common forms is peer-to-peer bullying and incivility. This activity is designed to help nurses better understand where this may stem from and recognize and effectively address these behaviors, which can compromise both patient care and nurse safety if left unchecked.

An important area for improvement is ensuring that nurses understand what bullying and incivility look and sound like. By increasing awareness and providing practical tools, nurses can be better prepared to identify, respond to, and prevent these behaviors in the workplace.

After this activity 85% of the participants will be able to verbalize at least one way in which bullying and incivility negatively impact the nursing profession, recognize two forms of bullying and verbalize at least one method for addressing workplace incivility/bullying in order to help prevent these situations and improve the professional healthcare environment.
